Happy Discovery
Two years ago CTV added Veronica Mars to their schedule, then dumped it from their programming. Since then … nothing.
Tonight while perusing the schedule I have discovered that the W network has added the show to their programming and as an added bonus, they are starting at season 1. While I appear to have missed the first 3 episodes, I find it tonight, right where I left off. Happy day. Friday night TV is no longer a big gaping void of blandness. With the move of Law and Order (original) to this makes 2 shows worth watching.
My favorite c.s.i. ever?
First they kill Danny Bonaduce (aka. Izzy in this episode), then the coroner sings his report after a round of air guitar on his cane. Throw in an autopsy on the body from the scale model. Toss in a bonus car crash….yep, This may well be my favorite.
Lazy Day Afternoon
Went shopping and to a late lunch with mom today. Calamari, Caesar and bread-sticks with red wine. Hearty, rustic fare perfect on a fall day. Bonus , it was mom’s treat. Watching last night’s taped TV before tonight’s full load begins. I really hope that they don’t keep Justice on hiatus. Victor Garber has such a talent for smarmy.
Keep in touch?
I have never been great at keeping in touch with anyone, not even my family. I was cleaning up my in-box and realized it had been several months since I had emailed my sister. Its not unusual to lose touch with her as she is usually at sea or out of country. If I can lose track of solarjoe and she’s related, then how many others have slipped through the cracks?
Strawberry Dog
I have a clean dog and he smells like stawberry shortcake. I love it. He has spent the evening cuddled up to me and the new smell is refreshing.
That Bites
I spent yesterday cleaning out my vegetable garden, removing all of the squash carcasses left behind by our early snowfall , then rewarded myself for my efforts with an espresso on the patio. The universe had other ideas of what I deserved. I got stung by a wasp. In a word – ouch. Luckily unlike my mom and grandma I did not have a severe allergic reaction. What makes me cranky- I did not provoke the damn bug. I have disturbed plenty of wasps nests in my time and come away unscathed. I take solace in knowing the little bastard is dead.
Speaking of dead.. Fox has placed Justice on Hiatus.
I am now going to brave the patio again in order to enjoy our 20degree temperature
Scarenoid?
This spring I got a gigantic bruise and a corresponding amount of pain.The giant purple mass was larger than my hand-spread and the swelling was larger than I could cup with my palm. It was also hot to the touch. The freakiest part, I just had it one day when I woke up.I went to my doctor and he thought it might be a muscle tear. Or the the big C. So, I went for an ultrasound of the area 2 1/2 weeks after it had first appeared, by then it had shrunk dramatically.Upon seeing the film, Doc decides it must have been a spider bite. That made no sense to me as there was no real center to the bruise, but what did I care, I was healing. This evening I have a slightly warm medium colored bruise in the exact same spot. No pain.
I am thinking about freakin’ out.

The plumber was been here for 4 hours. It was not our usual plumber, he sent in a replacement. A much younger and hotter version. The stainless steel dishwasher is hot too.
Last night’s TV
e.r.-I had convinced myself that they were going to kill Jerry, so I was happy to see him pull through. The season premiere definitely lived up to season’s past. A good balance of tension. The fx on both Jerry and Abbie’s surgeries were great, and gross. Luka’s crying was however forced
survivor- the immunity idol has been found…. wasn’t it found last season by the second person on exile island too? They did a better job hiding the idol in the trees for Amazon
c.s.i.- Once they showed clips from KAthey could do no wrong. I really loved the crime scene maquette/dollhouse at the end.
6 degrees- meh. I can see this developing into an interesting series, but I don’t think it will stay on my list. We’ll see it next week and then decide
Shark- James Woods can really deliver a line. He had me cracking up at lines that I am sure I know other actors may have spoilt. ” I am Good, But I am humble”. Jerri Ryan seemed underused for this episode. I hope they use her more in the future.
Grey’s Anatomy- ctv sucks. episode 2? really what were they thinking?
counters and more
Yay. We finally got our counters installed! And the plumber comes to install the sink and dishwasher in the morning. Happy Day.
Seeing as we had no definite appointment for counters, just a date, we have wrangled this into an opportunity to order in. Mmmmm Pizza. And now the wine to go with can stretch itself through a long night of TV. Looking forward to Shark and 6 degrees series premiers. Season premier of e.r., Grey’s Anatomy and c.s.i. Not to mention Survivor.Thank god for the VCR!
Back to the Mac
Just read that Euge and Megsare going back to the Mac. Fort McMurray will be lucky to have Megs as a teacher. Leaving Prince Albert and all of its comforts for boom-town takes guts. Yay for having the courage to make the right move not the easy one.
