televised goodness
After an evening of good TV – 24, Prison Break, Heroes -I went to watch my recorded episode of Battlestar Galactica. I accidentally dialed in the wrong channel on my remote and discovered episode 1 of The State Within. Brilliant. Jason Isaacs in a story of international terrorism, and all of the subsequent twists of diplomacy, conflicts and relationships that you may imagine. Did I mention Jason Isaacs is plays the British Ambassador to the US? There are also a number of other great actors. Episode 1 was great. I hope they can keep the pace up for the next5 episodes.
Personally, I think he’s overqualified…

I have spent the week battling a wicked migraine. blech. I have been particularly sensitive to light and sound all of which has been triggering nausea. It has been long enough since I have had a severe migraine that all of my meds have expired, as have the available refills on my prescription. To add to my hell I have been watching football and hockey. I have tried to supplement this torture with old movies and new TV. Old movies are great for a migraine, no fancy flashing edits, nice clear dialogue, and music that is set at a volume to underscore, not drown things out. You can just close your eyes and listen if the screen is too bright.

A new video inspired by the Karate Kid ( who wasn’t inspired by Karate Kid?) Starring Johnny, and directed by Johnny. Cobra Kai even has a cameo.

For me it started in college, whoever called the cab was “Julia”, somehow it carried over to Starbucks. I never order under my own name. When I’m with my mom, I always order under her name. Now I feel that I need something a little “cooler”
I like the sound of a barrista calling “triple venti no whip mocha with one pump of toffee nut for Snape”

look at his face. I don’t know whether to cry for the dog or plot the death of the evil bastard that could do something like that. Do you have any idea how big a mastiff is? do you know how big a hole you would have to dig? That is hours of plotting to harm this innocent creature.
Snap?
not sure I am liking the whole Snap function.wordpress says that only 10% of users have been given this tool as a test. This is one of those times I wish I had readers so they could give me feedback on it.
like Urban Dictionary listing #5. I have resolved to live with it for a week and then if it is still bugging me, turn it off.

lets hear it for the little guy- for the first time in history, an unsigned band reaches the UK top 40 chart!

Bready
Spent the day making buns and bread
I love making bread. In the first cookbook dedicated to bread that I read (the name escapes me now, too basic, something like “the bread book” the author spoke about making bread like it was a sacred experience. At the time I thought she was nuts. Today I fell into the zen of bread-making. Today she makes sense. The day began with the simple plan of making bread and watching 24 this evening. After I set my first (double) batch to rise. I didn’t want to stop.( I blame my new red apron) So I made a second. and for the first time in my bread-making history I didn’t follow a recipe. I used 9 different times of flour, and 3 different kinds of seeds. (light rye, dark rye, triticale, wheat, white, corn, spelt, oat and soy+ hemp, sunflower and flax)
I am a bread guru
Last night I finally watched “Bob Roberts”. It was on my list of movies to watch because of Alan Rickman. For any Rickmaniac- not enough Rickman. That aside, I really enjoyed the movie. Anyways, I have new respect for Tim Robbins who has writing directing and acting credits. Its an interesting look at style v. substance in politics. Speaking of Rickman the preview for his upcoming movie Nobel Son is up and Running. It is an independent film, so I hope that between recent press for Shawn Hatosy (Alpha Dog) and Eliza Dushku fans this will get a wide enough review to be released here.
Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting
back from grandmas house, just in time for the blizzard. and just before she landed herself back in the hospital for falling flat on her face splitting her nose open and breaking it at the same time.Ouch. An injury complicated by her blood thinners. mom says She looks awful–purple raccoon eyes, very swollen across nose and eyes. Also left knee is swollen and purple and her breasts also swollen and purple. She has to keep packing in her nose 48 hrs.–so they’ll remove it sometime after 5 tomorrow. It was still leaking all day–changing dressing about every 3 hrs. so hope it stops overnight so she won’t have to have it repacked.

looking at the new images from the final Pirates movie, Orlando’s hair is way prettier than Kiera’s.
Currently thanks to Dan I am spending my time creating my shelves at Shelfari. I somehow seemed to have added 3 of the same book, and cannot delete it. grrr. why have a “remove from shelf” button if it don’t work? That aside, I like. The part of me that loves to organize, label and file wants to put the exact edition (hardcover, cover art publication date) The part of me that like pretty wants to choose the prettiest cover art options down. I don’t know if I should put only books that are currently on my physical bookshelf, or add everything that I have read you see in the interest of organization I purged most of my paperbacks 2 years ago. Clearly it will take me a while to get sorted out
