how do you say “meh” in french?
and another episode of my life in a nutshell.
Work: have realized that despite it not being my first choice in employment, I am really enjoying my job. Physically it is a lot , and I still lose function in the evenings, but I enjoy the seeing each piece and finding the right matting and frame to enhance it. The only downsides are the physical toll and the shop tensions. Shop tension all relating back to the “expert framer” they hired. Hiring her, it turns out, was done without the knowledge/request of the shop manager. While she is a lovely girl, she has a lot of personal drama, and worse, she is not very productive. Shop hours are based on productivity.
Health: Saw the Rheumatologist last week, and have now been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The upside is that the condition is not fatal, the downside is there is no cure. She stressed that one of the keys to functioning within the syndrome is keeping a regular routine and minimizing stress. Both the rheumie and my regular doctor agree that I shouldn’t be working evenings, and should avoid staying in a job with a lot of stress.
that’s where the meh comes in. I have found something I enjoy, and may have to give it up too. I am pretty sure I could handle the physical aspects if one evening a week were not mandatory. sucks.
weekend update
It hasn’t been a bad week. In a nutshell:
- got a loan from bank to pay off student loans and credit cards- thus making my monthly payments smaller.
-tried a new varietal of wine- a Malbec. Will definately be having more.
- weather dropped to scarf weather. I love my scarves.
- got confirmation of my Rheumie appt. this week. This is a relief, as I have been fearing it may get cancelled.
this weeks temptation? A pair of Michelle’s cashmere wrist warmers.
recalled
I was so excited to hear about the upcoming Sweeney Todd film. Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman directed by Tim Burton, how could it be bad. Watching the trailer, I see a few ways it could be bad.
Speaking of bad, my pain levels have been really high lately. I went to the doctor and got a prescription for pain meds. I also got a prescription for a cane. I have seen that coming for a while now but seeing “Jenny needs a cane” in writing kinda sucked. I don’t need it all the time, so I got a folding cane in black. Tonight I got a call from my pharmacist, the medication I have been taking since July, the one that I call my “miracle drug”, has been been recalled because it causes liver toxicity. The soonest I can see my doc is Tuesday, assuming he is in. Working full shifts for four days without an antiinflammatory is not my ideal way to spend the long weekend
