Good question

November 29, 2007 at 12:35 am (Blogroll, books)

I have never been a fan of Stephen Harper. When he created a tax cut for kids hockey my despise grew. Why not offer that same cut to those with kids in music and dance? To speak plainly in language I think Mr. Harper would understand- I think he’s a dimwit with no grasp of the arts and their importance to society. So today, when I heard about Yann Martel’s website- What is Stephen Harper Reading? I was keenly interested. When you read the story behind the website you will probably see why it resonates with me.

the post in which I try to sum everything up

November 26, 2007 at 2:10 am (Art, Blogroll, Food, Job, New stuff, Renovation, fibromyalgia, friends)

OK so I have been a little negligent on the posting…. while it may be easiest to shrug it off as all work related that would be a lie. Mostly I have been using what had been my “blog time” to research fibromyalgia. So what have I missed sharing?

-Saw K&K last week for the first time in  over 2 years, when  I got to meet the spawn of Bennett and see their new house-  kind of funny in that I used to see them regularly when they lived 2 hrs away. Now at 16  minutes away it doesn’t happen.

-Saw Andy and Dave with spawn 1&2 today. met at the mall and hit toys r us- twins in a toy-store is pretty entertaining, but might give you whiplash as you try to watch them run in different directions

- started holiday shopping early in an attempt to limit my last minute stress- have some how come away with new bunt pans, a new cake plate and a mini cheesecake pan for me. all on sale.  how did that happen?

- finished 4 of the 6 pieces I brought into work to frame. My art, framed properly….can’t wait to hang it.

-have trained 2 new girls at work. One I already hope will move on. Speaking of work, the “expert framer” complained to the store manager that our assistant manager was being to hard on her. He has been written up for this. It turns out expecting someone to show up for all of their shifts on time, and then be prepared to work (and not spend the first 15 minutes of their day applying makeup) is unreasonable. As someone who chronically clocks in 15 minutes early, this angered me.

- more progress has been made by mom in the home reno department. Maybe someday we may finish?

- I wish I had made these
